I was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Like many New Mexicans, I enjoy desert landscapes, eating spicy food, and bragging about my state's flag.

In my free time, I enjoy playing jazz piano, studying Chinese and playing strategy games (currently fixated on Spirit Island!). Since coming to grad school I've also gotten really into sport climbing, which I think is a great hobby for anybody who likes problem solving.
